Hey freinds !
Sometimes life is about patterns and cycles.Something’s repeat again and again and we treat them like they are new.
“….nothing is new under the earth…”
If we can see the patterns, we can be more consistent and productive.Instead of saying “Oo its Monday” we can say “its Monday again “, knowing there is nothing really different.Recessions, bankruptcy , birth , starting a business all these have happened and some of them more than a million times.
The goal is to make better decisions by changing the way we approach Monday.
At least a framework:
1.Patterns
Life is made up of recurring patterns like the beginner phase, recessions, marriage I guess most these have happened many times and some of them even a million times, if we can develop habits to see these patterns not only in our life but in other peoples lives we can make better decisions and avoid making mistakes that we can avoid.
To see these patterns and make better decisions we can use journaling.Which can help you see what’s happening in your life, in the process you can also try some review sessions maybe once a week or once a month.We can also learn from people’s experience through books/podcasts to find out what problems they uncounted and how they solved them.
2.Cycles
What is really the difference between patterns and cycles ? Ok just to make a point in this letter I will have to define cycles as the seasons that we encounter in our lives like times when a relative passes away, when we go bankruptcy, we just graduated or we have landed our fist job.
These are cycles that keep repeating in our life and in these times we encounter different emotions.In these times we have to make decisions or we have to find a reason to keep going.By reflecting to feel how it felt like, then we can have compassion with with our friend’s or ourselves.
We need to remember “ooh I know this, I had this feeling two years ago and now I need to focus on this, I can do this, I can find someone to help me” whatever decision we can make to get over the different seasons.
3.Reflection
I think reflecting has been one thing that has helped me a lot, when it comes to self awareness and also learning life lessons.We can use reflection to our advantage it can let us know how we act, what strengths and weakness we have.By having this awareness we know where we are heading on to, so we can correct if we are heading the wrong road or just correct somethings we are missing.
4.Action
Something I am really battling with during reflections is to develop a strong bias to action.It doesn’t help me only to move faster to my goals but I believe by developing an action muscle I can help my self do the things I say I want to do within the time.Which I think last month I tried and we continue again this month.
We can stress all we want about having a bucket list or the reflections , patterns and cycles but If we don’t get things done then there is no point.I believe whatever ever stage we are there is an option to take an action be it the things we are avoiding to do or just procrastinating, once we start taking action we can enjoy the game rather than avoiding the work or procrastinating doing the wrong things.

The best outcome of realizing this is to move a high-stack decision (when the thing happens for the first time) to a low-stack decision (when it repeats) so we free our minds to focus on other important decisions in that time in our lives.
