Be still, fighting good and evil
issue #1
Welcome to the Wednesday Snippets, my personal diary made public to the world. I will act as your business and writer shopper so that you don't have to waste time. I'll read it so that you don't have to, and I will share insights so that you can actually take action in your business and writing.
Be Still
A still mindset is a sign of a strong man. The weak man wanders around in search of his weaknesses, in motion to validate or cover them.
But the wise man trusts in the Lord, and in all his days, he has trusted as David said, "The Lord is my strength." In his acceptance of his weaknesses, he realizes the power of the divine.
He acknowledges that he has been called to a higher purpose than merely satisfying his ego or the need to be right. What then does it yield to run around in the midst of fear and lack? To whom has this profited?
But a noble man, in his days, trusts and puts his faith in the Lord. His mind is calm, and he is in no rush, chasing the wind. He understands time, and in all his days, he rejoices in the Lord.
The Battle Between Good and Evil
In my humble opinion, in confirmation of Jim Rohn's words, life is the constant battle between good and evil. How much our mind battles with the body to wake up in the morning—how much then shall this battle be throughout the day if it starts in the morning?
I often ask God how much strength and conviction He gave great people like David and Solomon, great warriors in their days, convicted of the goodness and faithfulness of God. Battling in their minds and flesh to wake each day and do good.
The spirit is willing, but the body is weak. What I do isn’t what I want, and what I want isn’t what I do—a reframe of the Apostle Paul's message in his great writings. He speaks of this battle between the spirit and the mind. How much strength, then, shall we ask of You to win these battles, and to what greatness shall we hold You if You have defeated darkness and evil with all Your glory?
The battle goes on—a calling to a higher purpose and higher standards, but the flesh calls for a life of ease and death. How much, how long, shall we fight this, and what strength shall we ask of You? A life of mediocrity or a life of purpose—to which shall we answer?
The battle between good and evil.
