Hello, guys! Welcome back to The Weekly Mindset, where we discuss actionable ideas to help us grow and stay productive. The past week was one of those weeks for both of us when we felt a bit lazy and spent almost the entire week doing nothing. Come Friday, we sat down and started discussing.
The first thing we did was ask questions. Without even realizing it, we explored why we felt the way we did and what we can do next time to achieve better results when we encounter such times. We decided to write about the magic of asking questions.
What’s Wrong with Asking "Where are you from "It may seem like a very innocuous question, but it can quickly turn into a microaggression.

I.Why ask Questions
Okay, first things first: why ask questions in the first place? Asking questions is about bedding knowledge and finding the intrinsic values behind what you are doing. This provides more reasons to wake up every day and work towards your goals. Here are some actionable questions we have found useful:
Challenge the conventional wisdom: Yes, most of the time, it's great to just go with the systems that we find in place. But what's wrong with asking questions? Doesn't it give us a better understanding and a deeper look into how things work?
Look for new advice: Asking good questions most of the time can lead to people wanting to teach or share what they know. The question is, what are good questions? Let's talk about that below!
Try different perspectives: What's wrong with being skeptical sometimes? Okay, skepticism from a place of curiosity, not judgment.
II.What are good Questions ?
Finding the right questions to ask during a job interview or when meeting a friend can be daunting. We often find ourselves in a place of fear, wondering, 'What if this happens?' or 'What if the person feels this way?' However, we can develop the skill of asking the right questions. It's not only about asking others, how about asking ourselves some questions? Doesn't that make more sense?
The growth mindset is also the ability to learn new things and allow your mind to develop new habits like asking good questions last time we talked about the power of cold emails and today earlier we talked about finding people of like minds can be a mentor or a community.
Once you decide to start engaging in the community or cold email seniors , one the of the challenges we can face is deciding what to try and we have three actionable actions you can try just to get started:
State what you know -this can help the person you are asking know the level in relation to where you want to go and now you can receive personalized advice on each very step to take.
Be willing to understand - be a good listener and always be willing to say ‘can you explain’ this gives the person a signal that you are listening and you want to learn.
Ask dump questions - we always feel good to protecting our ego but sometimes we may need to ask what they call ‘dump questions’ and this can unlock new connections and learn new things quickly.
III.The Magic Power of Asking Questions
There is an intrinsic power that lies in asking good questions. A lot of value in your life can be unlocked by simply asking questions. Here are some of the things you unlock for yourself when you open up to questions:
Unleashing your curiosity: Asking questions at its core is about challenging the norm and delving into the "why" of things. Conceptually, when you ask questions you are opening doors to unexplored possibilities and peeling back layers of understanding.
Growth Mindset in Action: Asking questions is the embodiment of a growth mindset—an acknowledgment that we can learn, adapt, and improve. Beyond seeking answers, it's about evolving our perspectives and approaches to challenges. It's an ongoing journey of learning.
Connection and Collaboration: Questions are the bridges that connect individuals. Whether you're reaching out to a potential mentor, engaging with a group, or deepening a conversation with a friend, questions build bonds. They express a genuine interest in others' thoughts and experiences, fostering connection and collaboration.
Overcoming Challenges with Questions: Life's journey is filled with challenges, and sometimes, the solution lies in the questions we ask. Whether it's navigating a career change, overcoming a creative block, or seeking guidance in personal development, questions are powerful problem-solving tools.
